I needed a jump start last sunday AGAIN because I need to use notebook inside my car, I used a 12V transformer to charge the notebook. I thought it did not consume much of the battery power, but finally the battery was flat again!!!!!!! This time, I learned from C-hings, I paid $100 to a taxi-driver to jump start my car, but the taxi-driver was not so familiar with the jump start because my car could not be started after connecting the cables correctly. Then I called my sales again, he asked me to turn on the headlights to see if the connection was good or not, but the headlights could not be turned on, then the taxi driver shake the cable slight to make them bite tighter, it finally workded.
Learning experience:
1) when you use those 12V note book transformers, beware of the flat battery consequence
2) when you work in your car, turn the room lights off. I think one of the reasons why the battery turned flat so fast (in 2 hours) was that I kept one of the side doors open, it would turn the room lights on, but it not noticable during a sunny day.
3) I bought the emergency battery on this Monday because: a) ask somebody to help is timing conusming and costly; b) a better reason, it can provide two 12V plugs for my 12V notebook transaformer and other devices, I do not need to run the engine (which save $ too) in order to aviod a flat battery if I work inside my car. It has lights and pumps too.
It's size is not so large comparing with my RJ1's trunk, I like it.
The above is my experience and would like to share with my c-hings : > |
