For your question, I have thought before, finally I installed the curtain because,
(1) Curtain privacy is much better, and pull down as u like and it got tie to bind it easily without noise;
(2) For film paper, it is good for shadow effect, prettier but it never can fully blocked the sunshine.
(3) Curtain have special function for lovers....
(4) Film paper, even you install in legal level, but u still need to fill the form at Transport dept for whole procedure.

As I got two sons, so young, so I chosen the curtain for their better sleeping at car. I hope can help you for reference.

But for (2), remember: blocked the sunshine =/= blocked the heat

Also if you have young kids, dust staying on the curtain may be harmful to them.

yes.... but surely, curtain block heat is not too difference from film paper.
for dust, everywhere got dust, depend you wash it or not, I will take the curtain off for cleansing. But u cannot take off the film to wash... and always rub it will dettach...
