日本のミニバンの元祖であるオデッセイ。その次期モデルは、トヨタアルファード／ヴェルファイア、日産エルグランドに対抗すべく生まれた上級ミニバンのエリシオンを吸収し、同車のオーナーも取り込むことになる。そんな次期オデッセイの情報をスクープ班がキャッチした！

次期オデッセイはステップワゴンとプラットフォームや足回りを共有する。全長および全幅は現行モデルと変わらず4800mm×1800mmに定められる。ただし高さは2代にわたってアピールポイントだった低全高から脱却。一気に150mmも高くなり1695mmに設定し直される。

それでもこの全高は1800mmを越えるアルファードやエルグランドだけでなく、同ジャンルではスタイリッシュな部類に入るエスティマより低い。そのボディサイズはマツダ MPVに近い縦横比となる。
