ホンダの屋台骨を支えるコンパクトカー、フィットが2013年9月までにフルモデルチェンジされる。新技術が盛り込まれ、2013年の日本カー・オブ・ザ・イヤー最有力候補といっても過言ではない

燃費競争に勝つべく最新技術を投入

ハイブリッドはアクアを超える低燃費を実現

次期フィットは国内で過熱する燃費競争に打ち勝つべく様々な試行錯誤が繰り返されたという。注目したいのはハイブリッド車だ。エンジン排気量は1.5Lに拡大され、アトキンソンサイクル化。より高効率なエンジンとなった。

ハイブリッド車のトランスミッションには新開発の7速DCT（デュアルクラッチミッション）が用いられる。これは国産コンパクトカーでは初採用となる。また、モーター駆動用のバッテリーにリチウムイオンが採用されるという噂もささやかれている。
